JAKARTA - Oecusse Airport, East Timor which was built by WIKA was completed and officially inaugurated by the President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor (RDTL) Francisco Guterres and Mari Alkatiri, as President of the Authority for Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse (RAEOA / Zeesm), in Oecusse, Timor Leste, Tuesday (6/18).
President of RDTL, Francisco Guterres, appreciated WIKA's performance in infrastructure development and its support in Timor Leste. He considers that WIKA as an Indonesian BUMN has played a major role in the relations between East Timor and Indonesia both in the development of Oecusse and the country of Timor Leste. The success in developing Oecusse according to the President will be replicated in other districts.
"This project is proof of our capabilities in terms of engineering, technology mastery, management projects and gaining new insights that are the result of interactions with stakeholders from other countries," said WIKA's Managing Director, Tumiyana.
With a contract value of US$ 119 million, the Oecusse International Airport Project consists of the construction of landside and airside facilities such as Tower Air Traffic Control (ATC), terminal building, quarrantine, fuel depot, Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR), runway, taxiway, apron, airfit lighting, to other airport facilities.
