JAKARTA. The Minister of Social Affairs asked regional governments in Indonesia to provide some assistance for citizens affected by large-scale social restrictions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency period.
Juliari P. Batubara, Minister of Social Affairs, asked regional governments not to rely solely on social assistance given by the central government. He hopes that regional governments can also provide assistance.
He also mentioned that the Ministry of Social Affairs has disbursed stimulus worth Rp 110 trillion for social assistance programs.
The assistance will be given in the form of the Family Hope Program (PKH), staple food card, pre-employment cards, and others. (KR/AR)
