JAKARTA. The COVID-19 observation and quarantine facility located on Galang Island, Batam, has been ready for operation.
In its official statement, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said the quarantine facility would be used to accommodate up to 1,000 patients. But in the first stage, the available capacity is 360 patients.
The facility is supported by 247 workers consisting of doctors, paramedics, volunteers, and security personnel. Workers on duty at quarantine facilities also get 2,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and 5,000 masks.
For information, the facility was worked on by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA). Meanwhile PT Virama Karya was appointed as a construction management consultant. (KR/AR)
