JAKARTA - PT Shell Indonesia announced a 27% growth in the number of Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in Indonesia, during 2020, after expanding to major cities.
Agung Saputra, Head of Dealer Network for Shell Indonesia, explained that the growth was also supported by company's cooperation with a number of local partners. In addition, Shell also kept expanding its gas station network to second-tier cities such as Karawang, Cirebon, Tuban and Jombang.
By the end of 2020, Shell had 137 gas stations operating in Indonesia, including 29 new gas stations started operating in 2020. Meanwhile, 16 of them are gas stations in collaboration between Shell and local entrepreneurs who have joined Shell Dealer Owned Dealer Operated (DODO) program.
This year, Shell will increase partnerships with local entrepreneurs to develop gas stations in various regions. "Shell invites regional entrepreneurs to move the wheels of regional economy together, and contribute to build Indonesian economy through gas station business," Saputra told idnfinancials.com today.
For your information, Shell Indonesia is a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, a Dutch oil and gas company. Currently Shell Indonesia has become a strategic partner of Inpex, one of the operators in Masela Block.
According to idnfinancials.com data, Shell Indonesia posted revenue of US$ 344.87 billion in 2019, with a net profit of US$ 16.43 billion. Meanwhile, its total assets were recorded at US$ 404.33 billion at the end of 2019. (KR/VA)
