Astra Group Revenue Report - Which Industry Contributes the Most?
Astra Group or Astra International currently has more than 187,000 employees working in seven business industries: Heavy Equipment, Mining, Construction & Energy; Agribusiness; Property; Automotive; Financial Services; Information Technology; Infrastructure & Logistics. Here is the overview of Astra Group revenue by industry in 2017 and 2018.
At the first glance, it is obvious that Astra Group’s biggest revenue in 2018 came from the Automotive industry, at Rp107,322 billion, with a consistent 45% percentage in two consecutive years. Astra automotive industry produces well-known vehicle brands, like Toyota, Daihatsu, and Honda.
The second revenue contributing industry was Heavy Equipment, Mining, Construction & Energy segment at Rp84,625 billion, which was 35% revenue percentage in 2018, slightly increased from the previous year. This business segment is primarily managed by PT United Tractor Tbk that has three main activities: construction machinery, mining contracting, and coal mining.
Financial Service and Agribusiness industries shared the third position with similar revenue percentages at 18%, no difference than the previous year. The Infrastructure & Logistics segment was also steady at 3%, declined modestly from 4% in the previous year.
The bottom two revenue contributing industries are Information Technology and Property. In 2018 the IT industry contributed Rp4,070 billion or 2%, while Property being the least profitable business segment contributing only Rp211 billion or less than 1% of total revenue. Both industries kept their revenue percentages the same as the previous year.
Overall, in 2018 Astra Group posted Rp107,322 billion of revenue, showing an 11% growth from the previous year amounting to Rp96,477 billion. (KD)
