JAKARTA — PT Darmi Bersaudara Tbk (KAYU), a processed wood manufacturer, aims to export 20 containers of its goods at the beginning of the year. Throughout 2022, the company managed to export 127 containers of processed wood products.

Nanang Sumartono Handiwodjojo, President Director of KAYU, confirmed that KAYU and the buying party have reached an agreement regarding the price. "The deal had been made. Therefore, there is a potential to export 15 to 20 containers to various countries," he mentioned in a press release today (9/1).

According to Handiwodjojo, this agreement is reached after arduous negotiation with the buyer, as the buying party revises the quantity of the export that had need previously settled. "The price set in the buyer's order can no longer be adjusted," he explained.

Until December 2022, KAYU exported 247,237 pcs of timbers, equal to 2,618.01 m3. The export peaked in August 2022, recording 23 containers, or 34,220 pcs equal to 473.09 m3. (LK/ZH)
