JAKARTA - Finally, on Friday, January 6, the net foreign trade volume revealed a surplus. The volume of foreign purchases, which totalled 1,47 billion shares, exceeded the volume of sales, resulting in a net volume of 133,071,100 shares. Interestingly, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) had the highest net volume with 255,916,000 shares after being purchased for 425,912,600 shares by foreign investors. In contrast, foreigners sold 130.86 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), resulting in the lowest net volume of minus 57.26 million shares.

Besides GOTO, other issuers' shares were not heavily traded. Foreign investors were seen obtaining 28.93 million shares of PT Panin Financial Tbk (PNLF) and 22.97 million shares of PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), for a net volume of 22.19 million and 16.22 million shares, respectively. Following that, 19.40 million shares of PT PAM Mineral Tbk (NICL) and 15.94 million shares of PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA) were also purchased with foreign funds. The net volumes for the two issuers were about 15 million shares.

From the divestment perspective, foreign investors were seen selling PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) shares in the second highest volume, namely 52.02 million, with a net volume of minus 17.65 million shares. Then, with a net volume of -26.01 million, 32.96 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) left the foreign portfolio. Finally, foreigners released shares in two telecommunications industry issuers, namely 23.93 million shares of PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (MTEL) and 15.85 million shares of PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR), with net volume ranging from minus 11 to 14 million shares.
