JAKARTA - On Wednesday, May 3, foreign trade volume remained negative, with net foreign volume closing at -263,438,300 shares. The difference between the volume of shares purchased by foreigners (1.84 billion shares) and the volume of shares sold (2.11 billion shares) was represented by this figure. PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) continued to be the most-sold share, with a net volume of -113.95 million shares and a foreign sales volume of 576.14 million shares. Meanwhile, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) had the highest net volume, with 29.37 million shares, after foreign investors purchased nearly 62 million shares of the automotive company.

Foreigners also sold shares in the state-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), totaling 102.83 million shares, bringing the net volume to -53.73 million shares. Then, oil and gas mining operator issuer PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) reported a net volume of -31.60 million after foreign investors sold 65.58 million of its shares. Furthermore, 35.15 million shares of communication infrastructure issuer PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL) left foreign ownership, resulting in a net volume of -26.58 million shares for MTEL. PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) then completed the string of top-sell shares with a net volume of -19.44 million shares and a sales volume of over 71.10 million.

Other stocks trailing ASII on the top buy list, on the other hand, failed to achieve a net volume of more than 20 million shares. PT Panin Financial Tbk (PNLF) finished second with a net volume of 19.7 million shares and a foreign purchase volume of 23.70 million. The following two issuers, PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES) and PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS), achieved a net volume of around 18 million shares. Foreign investors purchased 31.06 million ACES shares and 20.35 million NSSS shares. Finally, PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) reported a net volume of 15.87 million shares with a sales volume of 16.14 million shares. (KD)
