Net foreign volume was pulled further into the red zone when it dropped below -251 million shares
JAKARTA - On Monday, May 8, the volume of shares traded by foreign investors nearly doubled from the usual. Foreign investors purchased a total of 4.37 billion shares, while the total number of shares sold exceeded 4.62 billion. This also pushed the net foreign volume further into the negative zone, with -251,244,000 shares. PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares were sold for a total of 2.95 billion and had a net volume of -659.36 million shares. Meanwhile, foreign purchases of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) shares totaled 380.11 million, bringing BUMI's net volume to more than 292.83 million shares.
The position of GOTO on the top sell list was then followed by two SOEs. More than 96.80 million shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) and 88.50 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were sold by foreign investors. The net volumes did not differ significantly, despite the fact that TLKM's net volume was slightly lower at -36.40 million, while BBRI's was around -30.37 million. Furthermore, foreign investors sold 76.25 million shares of media issuer PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), but the net volume was only around -27.88 million. The net volume of automotive issuer PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) was then reported at -24.26 million shares after 56.61 million shares were sold.
Meanwhile, PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) has the highest volume of foreign purchases after BUMI, with 134.22 million, followed by PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk (ACES) with 122.10 million. However, ACES's net volume was 72.08 million, which was significantly higher than NCKL's, which was only about 23.24 million. PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS), in fact, had a relatively high net volume of 67.45 million shares, with foreign purchases totaling around 67.85 million shares. Finally, foreigners purchased as many as 29.58 million shares of the coding and marking issuer PT Mitra Pack Tbk (PTMP), with a net volume of more than 27.59 million shares. (KD)
