JAKARTA - Foreign buying volume on Tuesday, January 9, nearly hit 2 billion shares, while foreign selling volume was 1.72 billion shares. As a result, net foreign remains consistent in the green zone, at approximately 223.35 million shares. Foreign investors purchased the most shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), totaling 355.76 million shares for a net volume of 81.86 million.

In addition, approximately 142.56 million shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) in the energy resources infrastructure sector were purchased, for a net volume of 92.88 million. Shares of PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), a petrochemical and energy company, were also purchased at 111.73 million shares for a net volume of 54.06 million shares, followed by the sale of 33.57 million shares of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) for a net volume of 29.60 million shares. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), the state-owned telecommunications operator, had a net volume of 21.73 million shares after foreign investors purchased 48.55 million shares.

On the share sales list, 56.12 million shares of pharmaceutical business PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) were sold, for a net volume of -45.66 million shares. Aside from that, three businesses, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC), PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET), and PT Superkrane Mitra Utama Tbk (SKRN), each had a net volume in the range of -19 million shares. This amount was generated after foreign investors sold 33.55 million MEDC  shares in the oil and gas exploration and production sector, 21.79 million INET shares in the internet service provider sector, and 20 million SKRN shares in the crane rental services sector. Finally, foreign investors sold PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) shares in the automotive sector, totaling 25.25 million shares for a net volume of -17.84 million. (KD)
