JAKARTA. PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk (ELPI) has allocated capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 1 trillion to acquire 7 new vessels. These vessels will be utilised to support business and promote expansion of market share outside Indonesia.

President Director of n Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari, Eka Taniputra, explains that the addition of these 7 new vessels is meant to meet the demands for offshore support vessels.

According to Taniputra, those 7 vessels consist of two units of Anchor Handling Tug and Supply (AHTS) vessels, two units of Landing Craft Transport (LCT) vessels, and three units of Fast Crew vessels.

“In addition, we also plan for vessel acquisition through our subsisidary, PT Samudera Luas Sejahtera Abadi, of one bulk carrier,” Taniputra added.

The fund for this vessel acquisition, according to Taniputra, will come from internal cash and bank loans. Taniputra is optimistic that the allocated capex will provide positive impact on ELPI’s financial performance, particularly in significant increase in non-offshore revenue. (AM/ZH)
