Foreign investors buy up Gojek Tokopedia's (GOTO) share, bringing the net foreign volume to 280 million shares
JAKARTA - On Monday, January 15, foreign investors purchased 379.97 million shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 147.38 million. This large number of share purchases boosted the net foreign volume to a surplus of 280.47 million shares, with a foreign buy volume of about 2 billion shares and a foreign sell of 1.72 billion shares.
Shares of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), which focuses on renewable energy, were also bought for 44.32 million shares, while only 1.79 million shares were sold, bringing the net volume to 42.52 million shares. Shipping and logistics firm PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk (SMDR) and local and international shipping company PT Buana Lintas Lintang Tbk (BULL) each have a net volume of around 30 million shares. These numbers were acquired from the acquisition of 45.19 million SMDR shares and 36.57 million BULL shares. The last shares purchased were 83.42 million shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) in the banking sector, for a net volume of 27.39 million shares.
Meanwhile, foreign investors sold 71.44 million shares of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) in the automotive industry, for a net volume of -49.72 million shares. The net volume of electric car battery producer PT Merdeka Battery Material Tbk (MBMA) was -37.35 million shares, while that of petrochemical and energy business PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) was -19.19 million shares. Both companies also have share sales values of roughly 57 million shares each. In addition, foreign investors sold 55.45 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) for a net volume of -18.13 million shares and 37.39 million shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (BIPI) for a net volume of -17.54 million shares.
