BANDUNG – Jahja Setiaadmadja, the CEO of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), has received the prestigious The Best CEO with Special Mention: Enormous Support for National Stunting Reduction Program award at the Top CEO Indonesia Awards 2024, held in Bandung this Friday (15/11) by Tempo-IDNFinancials.

Setiaadmadja earned this distinguished accolade thanks to BCA's firm commitment to addressing the critical issue of stunting in Indonesia. Through a variety of collaborative programs with philanthropic organizations and private companies, BCA has played a significant role in assisting the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) in its efforts to accelerate the reduction of stunting across the country.

According to BCA’s 2023 Sustainability Report, the bank, along with several related institutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI) program over a four-year period, from 2023 to 2026.

In the initial phase of this program, BCA allocated IDR 3.95 billion in 2023 out of a total US$1 million committed. Notably, BCA will participate in the PASTI program across four regions: Banten Province, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and West Kalimantan.

By 2023, through its various initiatives, BCA has provided nutritional interventions for 1,725 toddlers, delivered reproductive health and stunting prevention education to 2,165 adolescents, engaged 2,366 parents in behavior-change communication, and offered guidance on stunting prevention to 554 engaged couples.

As Indonesia's largest private bank, BCA continues to grow robustly. Its assets increased by 3.8% year-on-year to IDR 1.43 quadrillion as of September 2024, while its lending surged by 14.5% yoy to IDR 877 trillion.

Net interest income also rose by 9.5% yoy to IDR 61.1 trillion, with net profit registering a double-digit increase of 12.8% yoy, reaching IDR 41.1 trillion.

With this consistent performance, BCA has been a regular recipient of accolades at the Tempo-IDNFinancials awards. It remains a constituent of the Indeks52, a stock index launched by Tempo-IDNFinancials in June 2023. Moreover, Setiaadmadja was previously recognized in the Top CEO Indonesia 2023, where he was named The Best CEO in The Most Valuable Company. (ZH)
