JAKARTA - The Indonesian government achieved an investment commitment of US$8.5 billion after attending the CEO Roundtable Forum at Lancaster House, London, England, yesterday (21/11). An investment that is of interest to potential investors in the health sector is stem cells.

“Just now I met with leaders of large companies, there are 19 figures here. They have committed to investing US$ 8.5 billion. This shows their optimism for our economy," said Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, quoted in a press release, Friday (22/11).

Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance, said that Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) were interested in various priority sectors in Indonesia, including the energy transition, infrastructure, education and health.

According to the Minister, global company leaders who attended the CEO meeting wanted to see the President's policy direction and commitment to investment. \

"Many were of course very surprised in a positive sense to hear from the President himself about his priorities and commitment to clean and efficient government, which was really appreciated," he said. (LK/LM)
