JAKARTA - PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI) will add 12 fleets by 2025 to boost revenue performance. The types of ships purchased include two pusher barge units, four tug boat units and six barge units.

Bintang Septo Drestanto, Director of TCPI, said that the source of funds for the purchase of the new fleet was 80% bank loans and 20% internal cash. "In 2025, the company plans to rejuvenate several existing ships by building two pusher barges, four tug boats and six barges," he said, quoted on Friday (22/11).

In addition, this issuer is preparing capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 700 billion, an increase of 55.55% from the 2024 capex allocation of IDR 450 billion. Last year's capex budget was allocated to purchase two pusher tug units, one supramax mother vessel unit, and docking costs.

With the addition of fleet units, this issuer is optimistic that the volume of nickel ore transportation will increase by 1.35 million metric tons (MT), an increase of 68.75% from the estimated realization of nickel ore transportation volume in 2024 of 800,000 MT.

In 2023, this issuer operated 267 fleet units, down 20.5% from the number of fleets operating 336 units in 2022. Of that number, TCPI owns 165 fleet units, up from 152 fleet units in 2022. (LK/LM)
