JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is determined and ready to provide financial solutions for workers in the country. A testament of its seriousness is its cooperation in providing post-employment compensation fund program services or pension funds for employees of PT Bumi Siak Pusako (BSP), a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) Pekanbaru engaged in the oil and gas sector.

This partnership was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Director of PT Bumi Siak Pusako Iskandar and the Chairman of the Financial Institution Pension Fund (DPLK) BNI Ikhwani Fauzana which was carried out in Jakarta recently.

"This cooperation is proof of the trust of agencies and institutions in the country to the BNI Group in providing financial solutions including managing employee pension funds. It is hoped that the reach of DPLK BNI can be even wider and can serve more workers in facing their old age," said BNI Corporate Secretary, Okki Rushartomo, in his official statement.

DPLK BNI has managed pension funds from various agencies and companies nationally since July 5, 1994. Currently, DPLK BNI is the market leader in the DPLK industry with managed funds reaching IDR 32.38 trillion until September 2024 or controlling 22.97% of the market share.

DPLK BNI also has almost 30 years of experience as a manager of various investment packages by providing optimal returns. Its services are also equipped with e-channels to make it easier for customers to make inquiries, simulations or transactions that will increase participant loyalty.

Chairman of the DPLK BNI Management, Ikhwani Fauzana, said that only 12% of the elderly population in Indonesia out of around 25 million people have prepared a pension program. This shows that there is a suboptimal understanding of the importance of a pension program for every employee. "Seeing these challenges, serious efforts are needed for this condition and starting to plan for retirement in order to improve employee welfare," he said.

Ikhwani appealed to the public to be more serious in preparing for their old age. The earlier you join the pension program, the smaller the contribution paid will be but the funds collected will be greater. (*)
