Indomobil director confirms Nissan-Honda merger plan
JAKARTA - The management of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (IMAS) clarified the intense talks between Honda and Nissan regarding the merger plan.
‘The information is true,’ said Jusak Kertowidjojo, Director of IMAS, in an information disclosure.
IMAS is Nissan's distributor in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Honda brand vehicles are under the auspices of PT Honda Prospect Motor.
However, said Jusak, there have been no talks between Nissan and IMAS regarding the planned merger with Honda. ‘There has been no discussion,’ said Jusak.
Jusak ensured that the corporate action plan would have no impact on IMAS' operational activities.
Previously, Reuters reported on the Nissan and Honda merger plan. The merger will result in an automotive group with the third largest vehicle sales in the world, after Toyota and Volkswagen. (KR/LM)
