JAKARTA – PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) announced the closure of its marketplace on Tuesday (7/1), as part of a broader business transformation strategy.

In an official statement, Bukalapak's management confirmed that electronic products, gadgets, fashion items, and other physical goods will no longer be available on Bukalapak.com. Going forward, the company will focus on selling virtual products such as prepaid phone credit, electricity tokens, and other digital services.

"As part of this strategic move, we will cease operations for physical product sales on Bukalapak's marketplace," the company said.

Customers will still be able to place orders for physical products until Thursday, 9 February 2025, at 11:59 PM WIB. Starting from 1 February 2025, the option to add new products will be disabled, and sellers will no longer be able to list new items after this date.

Any orders that remain unprocessed by 2 March 2025 at 11:59 PM WIB will be automatically cancelled by the system. Refunds for cancelled orders will be processed through BukaDompet.

In its blog, Bukalapak has provided guidelines for sellers on how to withdraw funds and handle refunds.

Once the marketplace service is fully closed, consumers will only be able to transact for virtual products such as prepaid phone credit, data packages, electricity tokens, electricity payments, pre-employment program payments, Bukasend, credit instalments, BPJS (Social Security), health insurance, water utility bills, Telkom, postpaid phone bills, cable TV & internet, and property tax payments (PBB).
