ANTM's gold exploration costs reach IDR 271 billion as of December 2024
JAKARTA - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) has announced its exploration report for the period ending on December 31, 2024.
Syarif Faisal Alkadrei, the Corporate Secretary of the company, stated in a written statement that the exploration activities focus on commodities such as gold, nickel, and bauxite, with a total preliminary unaudited exploration expenditure of IDR 271.49 billion.
Exploration activities for nickel were carried out in North Konawe and Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, and Buli, North Maluku, while gold exploration was conducted in Pongkor, West Java, involving drilling activities including in-mine drilling (underground) and deep drilling (surface).
In North Konawe, activities included geological mapping, core sampling, core logging, grid measurements & re-surveys, installation of predrill and postdrill markers, GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) geophysical measurements, single tube drilling, and sample preparation and laboratory analysis.
In Pomalaa, activities included geological mapping, core sampling, core logging, grid measurements & re-surveys, installation of survey markers, resistivity geophysical measurements, single tube drilling, and sample preparation and laboratory analysis.
In Buli, activities included geological mapping, core sampling, core logging, grid measurements & re-surveys, installation of survey markers, single tube drilling, sample preparation & analysis, facility construction, and evaluation & reporting.
As for bauxite exploration, as of December 31, 2024, it was conducted in the Tayan and Landak regions in West Kalimantan. In Tayan, activities included geological mapping, grid/polygon measurements, geodetic GPS measurements, test pit, test pit logging, test pit sampling, and rock sampling. In Landak, activities involved sampling test wells, measuring Crude Specific Gravity, and polygon/track measurements.
Through its Geomin Unit, the Company carries out integrated mineral exploration activities, including area surveys, geological exploration, geophysical exploration, geodesy surveys, drilling, physical and chemical testing, and mineral reserve and resource estimation, supported by an integrated Geographic Information System (GIS).
"Exploration activities are carried out to ensure the adequacy of the Company’s strategic mineral resources and reserves. Nickel exploration aims to support the continuity of operations and initiate the development of the Company’s nickel downstream business," he concluded. (DK)
