At last, foreign transaction closed with net buy of 603 million shares
JAKARTA – Foreign transactions ended Friday, January 17, with a net buy of 603.78 million shares, after continuing to record net sells since the start of the year. A total of 4.71 billion shares were bought and 4.10 billion shares were sold by foreigners, indicating an increase in the number of international transactions.
With a net purchase of 628.51 million shares, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) was the top stock on the list of top buys. 2.68 billion GOTO shares were purchased by foreign investors, and 2.06 billion were released.
Additionally, around 177.59 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) were sold by foreigners. This mining parent issuer also noted a net buy of 61.07 million shares.
After nearly 90 million of its shares were purchased by foreigners, telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk followed with a net buy of 47.16 million shares.
The final two stocks on this list are the financial services company PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP) and the oil and gas tanker issuer PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL).
Net purchases of 30-32 million shares were reported by both issuers. However, with 90.88 million and 34.35 million shares sold, respectively, BCAP's sales volume was significantly higher than BULL's.
Meanwhile, at the top of the top sell list was PT MNC Land Tbk (KPIG), with a net sell of 81.09 million shares. There were 415.69 million shares of this real estate developer company that had been sold by foreign investors.
PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk (CPRO), a producer of shrimp, came next with a net sale of almost 50 million shares. A total of 54.62 million shares of CPRO shares were sold.
Foreign investors subsequently released about 75 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Mineral Tbk (BRMS), resulting in a net sell of 45.46 million shares.
Forklift and material handling equipment rental company PT Sarana Mitra Luas Tbk (SMIL) and augmented reality technology company PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG) then closed today's net foreign news with a net sell of around 33 million shares.
Foreigners released shares of both issuers with a similar volume, namely in the range of 47-48 million shares. (KD)
