JAKARTA. Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) saw 0.22% climb to 7,170.73 on Monday’s (20/1) trading session.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) reigned Top Leaders’ list with 3.18% increase in price, contributing 19.89 points to the index.

It was then followed by PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), with 2.13% increase in price and 11.17 points of the index. Then, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) reported 3.36% price jump, thus boosting the index by 5.49 points.

Instead, stocks with jumbo market capitalisation dragged JCI down last Monday (20/1). For example, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) booked 2.79% price slippage, thus dragging the index by 17.89 points.

PT Barito Renewables Energi Tbk (BREN) also recorded price decline of 2.29%, and 8.57-point decrease in index, while PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) saw 1.89% decrease in price, thus slowing the index down by 5.79 points.

Throughout Monday’s (20/1) session, foreign investors booked net sell worth IDR 276.18 billion. PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk’s (GOTO) shares were sold the most, with total net sell 1.23 billion shares.

Total transaction volume was recorded at 19.09 billion shares, with total value worth IDR 10.63 trillion. Meanwhile, transaction frequency stood at 1.2 million. (KR/ZH)
