Foreign sales still strong, net sell almost 700 million shares
JAKARTA - On Wednesday, January 22, the Indonesia Stock Exchange had a net sell of 697.01 million shares from foreign investors' stock trading transactions.
While the total number of international purchases was approximately 3.54 million shares, the amount of foreign sales is still rather large at 4.24 billion shares.
With 722.14 million shares of net sell, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), the parent company of digital services, is once again at the top of the list of top sells. A total of 2.63 billion shares were sold with the 1.91 billion shares that were bought by foreigners.
PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), a coal mining business, came in second with a net sell of 38.11 million shares. About 130.28 million BUMI shares were released by foreigners; however, they only purchased around 92 million.
PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA), a holding company for mass media, came next with a net sale of 32.38 million shares. Up to 32.38 million of its shares were sold by foreigners without any shares being bought in exchange.
With a net sell of roughly 23–25 million shares, PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO), a mining and oil and gas infrastructure firm, and PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), an e-commerce company, were the two issuers that closed the top sell list.
PTRO's sales volume was 31.17 million shares, compared to BUKA's 23.23 million.
However, with 56.12 million shares, the national telecom provider PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) emerged as the stock with the largest net buy. Nearly 88 million of these shares were bought by foreigners, with around 31.67 million sold.
The oil and gas tanker business PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) then recorded a net buy of nearly 40 million shares. Only about one million of these shares were sold overseas, with 40.35 million shares purchased.
PT Sinergi Multi Lestarindo Tbk (SMLE), a chemical firm, announced a net buy of 32.25 million shares. With a net buy of about 30 million shares, mineral mining company PT Bumi Resources Mineral Tbk (BRMS) came in next.
SMLE's foreign purchase volume was 32.68 million shares, and BRMS' was 84.87 million shares.
With a net buy of 20.04 million shares, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) ultimately ended the top buy row. Around 4.20 million shares of this energy company's shares were sold, and 24.24 million shares were purchased by foreigners. (KD)
