Acquiring patent for carbon absorber, OBAT optimistic for revenue growth
JAKARTA - PT Brigit Biofarmaka Teknologi Tbk (OBAT) is optimistic that it will secure revenue growth after acquiring a patent for its carbon absorber, Treealgae.
Toufin Noor Pramudi, Corporate Secretary, mentioned that obtaining this patent right for carbon absorber will boost its revenue significantly.
“This invention is a breakthrough expected by industries producing carbon emissions, so that they might attempt to lower carbon emission as soon as possible,” Pramudi said, as quoted Thursday (23/1).
According to Pramudi, Treealgae is adopting the carbon absorbing technology, which could be placed around the factory or office.
The copyright for the technology in said equipment was officially secured yesterday (22/1) from Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights through its subsidiary, PT Algaepark Indonesia Mandiri (AIM).
OBAT recently debuted on the stock exchange last week (13/1), issuing 170 million shares for IDR 350 each. The funds obtained from IPO reached IDR 59.5 billion, allocated for raw material purchase, as well as marketing and production expansion.
In H1 2024, OBAT’s revenue was IDR 54.75 billion, with net profit reaching IDR 12.64 billion. At the same period in 2023 (unaudited), its revenue and net profit stood at IDR 19.25 billion and IDR 3.88 billion. (LK/ZH)
