JAKARTA – The net buy of 394.84 million shares was the result of foreign investors' stock buying and selling activities on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Thursday, January 23.

This positive trend was prompted by foreign buying volume of 3.58 billion shares, which exceeded sales volume of 3.19 billion shares.

Today, GOTO shares also showed unusual behavior. In the recent past, net sells were typical, but with 545.47 million shares, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, a provider of digital services, led the net buy list today.

While foreign buyers purchased about 1.9 billion GOTO shares, only 1.35 billion were sold.

With a net buy of 48.75 million shares, national bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) came in second after 173.33 million of its shares were purchased by overseas investors.

PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET), a manufacturer of fiber optic cables, then followed with a net buy of 38.13 million shares. Foreign investors purchased 76.94 million shares and sold approximately half of that number.

The final two issuers on this list were mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) and oil and gas tanker company PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), with net buys of 21.16 million DEWA and 23.55 million BULL, respectively.

In total, 26.79 million BULL shares and 83.22 million DEWA shares were bought by foreigners.

On the other side, GOTO was displaced as the most sold share by BRMS shares from PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS). A net sell of 73.04 million shares of this mineral mining share was registered after 134.54 million of its shares were dumped.

PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), the parent company of BRMS, came next with a net sell of 32.69 million shares. Foreign investors purchased 137.30 million shares of this coal mining company but sold nearly 170 million shares.

This time, foreigners also sold 96.52 million shares of the private bank PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), resulting in an immediate net sell of 28.93 million shares. In close pursuit, PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk's (PSAB) net sell was 22.89 million shares.

With a net sell of 17.61 million shares and a foreign sell of 20.03 million shares, PT Janu Putra Sejahtera Tbk (AYAM), a poultry farming company, finally finished the list of top sellers. (KD)
