JAKARTA - The price of 24-carat Antam gold bars saw its highest increase in several months, with a significant surge of Rp25,000 per gram on Friday (31/1), rising from Rp1,595,000 to Rp1,620,000 per gram. This marks the highest increase this year, signalling a positive outlook for gold investors.

In addition to the selling price, the buyback price—used by Logam Mulia, Antam's official trading platform—also saw a notable increase of Rp20,000 per gram. The current buyback price stands at Rp1,475,000 per gram, up from Rp1,455,000 per gram the previous day.

This sharp increase is driven by several global factors, including the weakening of the rupiah against the U.S. dollar and the rising demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions have also contributed to pushing gold prices to their highest levels in recent months.

Analysts predict that the upward trend in gold prices may continue in the near future, with investors becoming more optimistic about gold's prospects as it remains a preferred choice in times of financial market instability. (DK/ZH)
