JAKARTA – On Friday, January 31, the Indonesia Stock Exchange saw a net buy of 367.22 million shares from the purchasing and selling of foreign investors' stocks.

A total of 3.44 billion shares were bought by foreigners, whereas 3.07 billion shares were sold.

In January alone, net foreign closed at a 9.08 billion share net sell position.

With 407.89 million shares, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) once again topped the list of net buys. Over 1.73 billion shares of this parent issuer of digital services were purchased by foreign investors, but only about 1.32 billion were sold.

Energy infrastructure issuer PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) came in second with a net buy of 132.62 million shares. Compared to 17.50 million shares sold, over 150 million were purchased by foreigners.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), the national bank, then proceeded to report a net buy of almost 64 million shares. While 76 million of its shares were sold, over 140 million were purchased.

Foreigners also purchased 43.69 million shares of PT Agro Bahari Nusantara Tbk (UDNG), an issuer that produces shrimp, without any sales, resulting in an instantaneous net buy at the same amount.

As a result of the acquisition of 43.10 million shares of the mining contractor issuer, PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) concluded this list with a net buy of 37.14 million shares.

Conversely, with 71.93 million shares, PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET) held the top spot on the net sell list. Foreigners sold up to 122.13 million shares of this fiber optic cable manufacturer issuer.

Following the release of its shares by foreigners without any purchases, the mass media holding company PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA) followed with a net sell of 48.17 million shares. The same thing happened to VIVA's television broadcasting unit, PT Intermedia Capital Tbk (MDIA), which reported a net sell of 35.28 million shares.

A net sell of 44.50 million shares was then reported by PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL), a Telkom subsidiary involved in the telecoms infrastructure industry. Lastly, PT Bintang Samudera Mandiri Lines Tbk, a company that issues transportation and logistics services, announced a net sell of 33.03 million shares.

About 34.77 million BSML shares and 82.73 million MTEL shares were released by foreign investors. (KD)
