Foreign investors sell almost 8 billion shares, net sell 1.65 billion shares
JAKARTA – On Wednesday, February 5, the Indonesia Stock Exchange saw a shift to the red zone in the buying and selling of stocks by foreign investors, ending with a net sell of 1.65 billion shares.
Foreign investors purchased a significant number of shares, 6.26 billion in total. Nonetheless, the number of shares sold was far higher at 7.92 billion.
The parent business of digital services, PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), which had previously consistently achieved the greatest net buy, actually topped the list of top sells this time. GOTO's stock net sold 1.88 billion after foreigners purchased 4.20 billion shares and sold 6.09 billion.
Additionally, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), a national bank, and PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB), an investment business in gold mining, each have a net sell of 33.30 million shares, according to the IDX. Approximately 81.34 million PSAB shares and 151.88 million BBRI shares were sold by foreign investors.
Following the dumped shares of about 65 million by foreign investors, PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) had a net sell of 28.75 million shares.
Ultimately, foreigners sold about 24.15 million shares of media parent company PT Visi Media Asia Tbk without buying any shares. This media parent issuer's net sell was likewise registered by the IDX with the same volume.
With 161.10 million shares, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BRMS) was the issuer in the lead in the net buy row. Foreign investors purchased a total of 231.67 million shares, while 70.56 million shares were released.
After 153.30 million of its shares were purchased, mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) came in second with a net buy of 84.32 million shares.
Following with net buys of 61–65 million shares were the energy infrastructure firm PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) and the telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN). A total of 68.50 million FREN shares were purchased overseas, compared to 81.83 million BIPI shares.
The investment firm PT Multipolar Tbk (MLPL) saw a net buy of about 30.22 million shares after foreigners sold 50.21 million shares. (KD)
