JAKARTA – Elon Musk is set to release Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology developed by xAI, which is claimed to be superior to China's DeepSeek AI.
Previously, DeepSeek had attracted the attention of the technology industry due to its lower cost offering. The emergence of DeepSeek has caused investors to question the business strategies of tech giants such as Meta and Microsoft in AI infrastructure.
"Is this an AI revolution? No," Musk said, responding to the arrival of DeepSeek.
"xAI and others will soon release models that are better than DeepSeek," Musk said, as cited from Bloomberg.
While DeepSeek claims that its AI infrastructure is more cost-efficient, several parties are sceptical of this claim. Armina Rosenberg, co-founder of Minotaur Capital Management, suspects that DeepSeek actually has access to more than 50,000 high-end GPUs, valued at an estimated USD 1 billion.
As previously reported by IDN Financials, DeepSeek was founded by Liang Wenfeng. His name garnered considerable attention after being invited to a closed symposium on AI, led by Prime Minister Li Qiang last January. (EF/ZH/KR)
