JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) has responded to allegations of environmental pollution raised by the Kaili Youth Front (PFK) at PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM) earlier this week.

BRMS management acknowledged that CPM, a subsidiary of the company, is currently conducting open-pit mining operations at Block 1 Poboya, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The company is also progressing with the development of an underground mining project.

In an official statement received by IDNFinancials.com today, BRMS management stated that CPM has obtained the necessary permits for its operations, covering both open-pit mining and the underground project.

"Essentially, all of CPM's mining activities are conducted with government approval and adhere to the principles of good mining practice," BRMS management clarified.

The company also confirmed that CPM's operations will continue, supporting BRMS's performance growth targets for this year.

As previously reported by IDNFinancials.com, BRMS aims to increase its gold production to 75,000 troy ounces by 2025, a 26.67% rise from the 2024 target of 55,000 troy ounces.

Herwin Hidayat, Director & Chief Investor Relations Officer of BRMS, said the target will be driven by the Poboya gold mining project. (KR/ZH)
