JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened by 1.54% or 104.12 points over the past week (10-14/2), closing at 6,638.46.

During the week, JCI reached its highest position at 6,713.95 and its lowest at 6,500.46. The total trading volume for the week was 77.25 billion shares, with a total transaction value of IDR 61.19 trillion.

According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), shares of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI)were the main drags on IHSG’s performance over the week.

BREN's share price fell by 12.46%, contributing to a 33.72-point drop in the index. Meanwhile, BBRI's share price declined by 4.22%, contributing to a 26.12-point drop.

Foreign investors remained dominant with selling activity, recording a net sell of IDR 3 trillion over the week. This brings the total foreign net sell since the start of the year to IDR 10.52 trillion. (KR/ZH)
