JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto has announced that the State Budget (APBN) will be cut even further, gradually.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during a speech at the 17th-anniversary celebration of the Gerindra Party on Saturday (16/1).

Previously, Prabowo had requested a budget cut of IDR 306.69 trillion through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025. “The first round of savings by the Ministry of Finance amounted to IDR 300 trillion. The second round of savings is IDR 308 trillion,” Prabowo stated.

In addition, Prabowo mentioned that the government is expecting dividend payments from state-owned enterprises (BUMN) totalling around IDR 300 trillion. Approximately IDR 100 trillion from these payments will be returned to the BUMNs to be reinvested as working capital.

From these various savings and dividend payments, the government plans to invest the funds through the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).

“We will not use this. We will hand it over to Danantara for investment,” Prabowo explained. (KR/ZH)
