Granted bullion license, BRIS records significant surge

JAKARTA – As of 1.30 PM WIB today (19/2), shares of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS), or BSI, have risen 9.35% year-to-date (ytd) and surged 4.1% throughout February 2024, reaching IDR 3,040 per share.
Rizky Budinanda, Head of Investor Relations at BRIS, attributed this stock price increase to foreign capital inflows of IDR 317 billion throughout 2025. Additionally, BSI recently obtained a bullion banking license from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on 12 February 2025, allowing the bank to officially conduct gold trading and safekeeping services.
This milestone coincides with global gold prices reaching an all-time high on 10 February 2025.
Throughout 2024, BRIS recorded a 177.42% year-on-year (yoy) increase in gold installment financing, reaching IDR 6.4 trillion. Meanwhile, the gold pawn business also grew by 31.3% yoy, underscoring strong demand for the bank's gold-related services. BRIS successfully maintained high-quality financing in this sector, with its Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio close to 0%.
On Tuesday (18/2), BRIS shares closed up 0.99% with a trading volume of 49.35 million shares, making it one of the top 10 movers in the LQ45 index. However, as of 1.30 PM WIB today (19/2), BRIS shares slipped from the opening price of IDR 3,080 to IDR 3,040 per share. (EF/ZH)
