Foreign sell rises, net sell 347 million shares

JAKARTA – Foreign investor transactions on the Indonesia Stock Exchange reversed on Friday (21/2) from yesterday’s trend, which recorded a net buy of 138.55 million shares. Today, foreign transactions registered a net sell of 347.86 million shares, driven by increased foreign sell volumes and decreased foreign buy volumes.
Total share purchases by foreign investors (foreign buy) amounted to 3.48 billion shares. With sales (foreign sell) reaching 3.82 billion shares, foreign investors recorded a net sell of 347.86 million shares today. This contrasts with yesterday’s trading (20/2), where foreign transactions posted a net buy of 138.55 million shares.
At the top of the sell list was PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), which saw a net sell of 87.79 million shares. Foreign investors bought around 105.98 million shares of this mineral mining company but sold 193.77 million shares.
National bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and technology firm PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG) followed in second and third positions, with net sells of 47 million BBRI and 44.08 million WIRG shares. Foreign investors sold 159.89 million BBRI shares and 55.31 million WIRG shares.
Next, advertising and management firm PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk (DOOH) recorded a net sell of around 34.36 million shares, with foreign investors selling 42.25 million DOOH shares. Only about 8 million shares of DOOH were purchased today.
PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), the parent company of BRMS, rounded off the list with a net sell of approximately 31.50 million shares. Foreign investors bought 35.51 million shares of this coal mining company but sold around 67.02 million shares.
On the other hand, digital services parent company PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) topped the buy list with a net buy of 97.18 million shares. GOTO's foreign buy volume remained impressive at 1.78 billion shares, while the sell volume was around 1.69 billion.
Closely following, with a net buy of 91.49 million shares, was PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL). Foreign investors bought over 105.71 million shares of this oil tanker company and sold only around 14 million.
PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) recorded a net buy of around 21.22 million shares after foreign investors purchased 34.38 million shares. PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) followed with a foreign buy volume of 44.90 million shares and a net buy of 10.75 million shares.
ANTM operates in mineral mining, while DEWA is a mining contractor.
Finally, gold jewellery producer PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk (HRTA) concluded foreign investment news with a net buy of 6.71 million shares. Foreign investors bought nearly 9 million HRTA shares while selling 2.22 million shares. (KD/ZH)
