JAKARTA – Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded unusual price and transaction volume movements in the shares of six companies this week, leading to their designation under Unusual Market Activity (UMA) status. This status serves as a warning for investors to exercise caution in making investment decisions.

On Monday (17/2), IDX added the shares of PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim Tbk (BESS) to the UMA category, due to an unusual increase in its share price.

Then, on Wednesday (20/2), IDX designated five additional shares as UMA. These shares belong to PT Indointernet Tbk (EDGE)PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII)PT Adiwarna Anugerah Abadi Tbk (NAIK)PT Era Mandiri Cemerlang Tbk (IKAN), and PT Surya Fajar Capital Tbk (SFAN)

In an official statement, IDX emphasised that UMA status does not necessarily imply a violation of capital market regulations. "However, investors are urged to be cautious and take into account all available information before trading," IDX authorities said in its statement.

Going forward, the IDX will continue to monitor the development of all these shares and take further actions if necessary. The exchange also urged investors to rely on official information before making any investment decisions. (KR/ZH)
