Antam wins two Gold PROPER 2024 ratings

JAKARTA – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), or Antam, has achieved two Gold Ratings in the 2024 Corporate Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) organised by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) on Tuesday (25/2).
Nico Kanter, President Director of Antam, stated in a written statement on Wednesday (24/2) that this recognition is a testament to the company's commitment to social and environmental sustainability.
“Conducting business operations based on good mining practices, prioritising safety and occupational health principles, is Antam's commitment,” Nico said in the official release.
Antam received these awards for the performance of its Gold Mining Business Unit (UBP) and Bauxite Mining Business Unit (UBP).
For Gold UBP, Antam earned the Gold Rating in PROPER 2024 for its Sundung Cisarua Programme. This eco-innovation initiative focuses on utilising non-hazardous rubber waste and creating new job opportunities for the community, including sheep farming.
Meanwhile, UBP Bauxite in West Kalimantan won the Gold PROPER award through the Aek Kapuas Programme, which focuses on using waste tyres to reinforce mining roads and converting empty palm bunches and organic waste into fertiliser beneficial to local farmers.
Antam also received a Green Rating in PROPER 2024 for its Nickel Business Unit in North Maluku and a Blue Rating for its Precious Metals Processing and Refining Business Unit (UBPP) and several of its subsidiaries. (EF/KR/ZH)
