Stocks soar, IDX monitors AREA

JAKARTA – Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is monitoring the unusual market activity (UMA) of PT Dunia Virtual Online Tbk (AREA) shares, which have surged by 120.79% over the past month.
Yulianto Aji Sadono, Head of Transaction Supervision Division at IDX, issued a notice regarding the unusual rise in AREA's stock to protect investors. “The UMA announcement does not automatically indicate a violation of capital market regulations,” he said on Friday (28/2).
IDX is currently reviewing the trading patterns of AREA shares. Investors are advised to consider AREA’s response to IDX’s request for clarification, pay attention to its performance and disclosure, and reassess any corporate action plans if they have not yet been approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).
This morning, AREA's stock corrected by IDR 10 to IDR 440 from IDR 450 per share. However, over the past week, AREA shares have risen by 78.86% or IDR 194, from IDR 246 to IDR 440 per share.
In a public disclosure, Michael Kurnia Wirawan Alifen, President Director of AREA, stated that he is unaware of any material information or facts that could affect the company's share value. (LK/ZH)
