Foreign transactions are back in the red, net sell 264 million shares

JAKARTA – On Tuesday, March 4, foreign investor transactions on the Indonesia Stock Exchange showed a net sell. Foreign transactions are back in the red today with a net sell of 264.21 million shares, compared to a net buy of 84.33 million shares on the previous trading day.
The amount of foreign buying and selling is down from the previous trading day (3 March), but it is still rather typical today. 3.60 billion shares were purchased by foreign buyers today, representing the total volume of foreign buys. Today, foreign investors registered a net sell of 264.21 million shares, with a sales volume (foreign sell) of 3.87 billion shares.
Two mining companies, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) and PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA), each accomplished a net sell of over 110 million shares, with BUMI shares topping the list. 175.91 million shares of BUMI were sold overseas, while about 65 million were bought. For DEWA, only about 30 million shares were bought, compared to 140 million shares sold overseas.
Third place goes to PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), with a net sell of 53.95 million shares. Over 82.65 million shares of this e-commerce firm were sold, whereas about 28.70 million were purchased by foreigners.
Foreigners then released over 90 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS). With a purchase volume of 37.32 million shares, BUMI's subsidiary in the mineral mining sector achieved a net sell of 51.98 million shares.
With a net sell of 47.73 million shares, technology company PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG) is the last issuer on the top sell list. 85.20 million WIRG shares were sold, while 37.46 million were purchased by foreigners.
At 81.53 million shares, the IDX reported the largest net buy in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares. 1.43 billion shares of this digital parent issuer were purchased overseas, while 1.35 billion shares were sold.
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), a banking company, came next with a net buy of 48.15 million shares. Over 211 million BBRI shares were purchased by foreign buyers, while 162.01 million were sold.
33 million shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) were purchased by foreigners, while 5.28 million shares were sold. As a result, a net buy of 27.72 million shares was made by this oil and gas tanker company. Following the purchase of 37.21 million of its shares and the sale of 11.79 million by foreigners, media business PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN) made a net buy of 25.42 million shares.
With a net buy of 22.32 million shares, oil and gas exploration firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) ended the listing. The number of MEDC shares purchased by foreigners was 30.19 million shares, while only 7.87 million were sold. (KD)
