JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) rose by 2.37% or 150.99 points to reach 6,531.39 by the close of trading on Wednesday (5/3), after falling 2.14% on Tuesday (4/3).

Amid the gains, foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 77.90 billion today. In contrast, on Tuesday, foreign investors posted a net buy of IDR 593.91 billion when JCI was in negative territory.

Shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) led the top gainers, with a price increase of 4.63% and contributing 26.12 points to the index. Meanwhile, PT Capital Finance Indonesia Tbk (CASA) was the top laggard, with a 5.70% price drop, pushing the index down by 1.94 points.

Most sectoral indices ended the day in positive territory, with the technology sector seeing the highest gain of 5.94%. The healthcare sector was the only one to decline, falling by 0.15%.

Throughout today's trading, the volume of shares traded on the exchange reached 21.21 billion shares, with a total trade value of IDR 13.31 trillion, involving 1.03 million transactions. (KR/ZH)
