JAKARTA – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) has allocated IDR 32.8 trillion to ensure smooth cash transactions during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 holiday period, which will take place from March 28 to April 7, 2025.

Nyoman Sugiri Yasa, SEVP Operations of BBRI, stated that although the amount of cash prepared decreased by 6.12% compared to the previous year, this policy aligns with the trend of declining cash withdrawals, which dropped by 15% year-on-year (yoy). This indicates that people are becoming increasingly accustomed to cashless transactions.

"Every year, the Eid period is accompanied by a surge in demand for cash. However, with the growing popularity of digital transactions, BRI is adjusting its liquidity strategy to be more efficient without compromising customer convenience," Nyoman explained.

In response to changing transaction patterns, BBRI has noted significant growth in its digital services. Usage of the BRImo Super App increased by 40.54% yoy, while QRIS transactions surged by 186% yoy. Additionally, transactions through BRI’s EDC merchants jumped by 177% yoy.

BRI has also ensured that its 19,670 ATMs and CRMs across Indonesia remain fully operational to guarantee cash access for those who still rely on conventional transactions.

"We want to ensure that people can enjoy the Eid holiday comfortably, without worrying about limited access to banking services," Nyoman concluded in a written statement on Monday (10/3). (EF/ZH)
