SIMP clarifies regarding MinyaKita underfilled measurements
JAKARTA – PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk (SIMP) has issued a clarification regarding the news of underfilled measurements in the MinyaKita cooking oil product, following reports that its product was identified as one of those not meeting the required quantity.
During an impromptu inspection conducted by the Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, it was found that SIMP's MinyaKita cooking oil was short by 50 ml from the intended quantity.
In response, SIMP's Corporate Secretary, Meyke Ayuningrum, explained that this discrepancy could be caused by two main factors: environmental conditions and the precision of measurement tools.
Environmental factors such as temperature, pressure, and humidity can affect measurement results, while improperly calibrated measuring tools may also lead to inaccurate outcomes.
Meyke emphasised that SIMP regularly reports its production results to the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, and the Food Task Force. According to her, these three institutions have also conducted direct inspections of MinyaKita products at the company’s warehouse.
"And the results have met the standards set by the government," she said in an official statement on Sunday (16/3). (DK/ZH)
