JAKARTA – On Monday, March 18, foreign investor transactions on the Indonesia Stock Exchange continued to close favorably with a net buy. Foreign net buy transactions have grown to 393.51 million shares from 126.99 million shares on the previous trading day.

The number of international purchases and sales today is significantly higher than it was on the previous trading day, March 17. 6.50 billion shares were purchased by foreign buyers today, representing the total volume of foreign buys. Today, foreign investors registered a net buy of 393.51 million shares, with a sales volume (foreign sell) of 6.10 billion shares.

With a net buy of 695.14 million shares, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares are the most purchased of the day. With 3.07 billion shares bought and 2.37 billion shares sold, this digital service issuer has a sizable number of overseas transactions.

A net buy of 138.64 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) was then made. About 171.24 million shares of this mining holding company were sold by foreign investors, who purchased 309.89 million shares.

After foreigners purchased 67.83 million shares and sold about 6.5 million shares of this oil and gas tanker issuer, PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) shares came next with a net buy of 61.31 million shares.

The top buy list was then closed by technology issuer PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG) and telecommunications issuer PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN), with a net buy of 33.33 million WIRG and 35.94 million FREN. About 42 million shares were purchased by foreigners in FREN, while 5.35 million shares were sold. Meanwhile, WIRG's foreign buy volume was approximately 50.54 million shares, while its selling volume was 17.20 million.

However, the majority of today's top sell list was made up of shares from banking issuers. With a net sell of 182.08 million shares, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) is in first place. 354.22 million shares of the private bank were sold, and 172.14 million were purchased by foreigners.

Following with net sell volumes of 140.14 million BMRI and 95.91 million BBRI were two national banks: PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI).

BMRI's foreign buying volume was 132.61 million, whereas its selling volume totaled 272.76 million. Meanwhile, BBRI's buying volume was 174.10 million with a selling volume of 270.02 million shares.

With a net sell of over 78 million shares, nickel mining issuer PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) and e-commerce shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) concluded the list of top sellers. Foreigners purchased as many as 49.41 million MBMA shares and sold as many as 126.42 million, while they sold 121.31 million BUKA shares and only purchased 43.24 million. (KD)
