Prajogo Pangestu continues to buy BREN shares

JAKARTA – Prajogo Pangestu has once again acquired 1.8 million shares of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) at IDR 4,987 per share, amounting to IDR 8.83 billion, on March 18, 2025.
According to Merly, Director and Corporate Secretary of BREN, with this latest transaction, Prajogo now holds 135,459,700 shares directly, equivalent to 0.10125% of the company’s voting rights. Previously, he owned over 133.6 million shares or 0.09993% of BREN.
“The purpose of the transaction is for investment with direct ownership of shares,” she stated in an official disclosure on Wednesday (19/3).
This accumulation occurred amid the declining price trend of BREN shares, which have now fallen to around IDR 5,000–IDR 5,100 per share. On 7 January 2025, the stock price reached IDR 10,550.
According to Bloomberg data from yesterday (18/3), BREN was one of the key factors causing the IHSG trading halt during session I on Tuesday, weighing the index down by 34.32 points. BREN also closed down by around 12% at IDR 5,050 at the close of trading yesterday.
During this morning’s trading session on Wednesday (19/3), at 09:40 WIB, BREN shares rose slightly by 0.99% or 50 points to IDR 5,100 per share.
However, over the past week, the stock price has dropped 17.74%, or 1,100 points, while over the past month, BREN shares have plunged 23.79%, or 1,600 points. (EF/ZH)
