JAKARTA – On Tuesday, March 19, transactions involving foreign investors ended with a net sell on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Foreign transactions registered a net buy of 393.51 million shares the previous trading day, but they have since dropped to a net sell of 261.50 million.

Compared to the previous trading day (18/3), when both purchasing and selling volumes hit 6 billion shares each, the volume of foreign transactions today was lower. Only 3.22 billion shares were purchased by foreign buyers today, representing the total volume of foreign buys. Thus, with a sales volume (foreign sell) of 3.48 billion shares, foreign investors recorded a net sell of 261.50 million shares today.

The top sell list is still dominated by shares issued by banks. With a net sell of 65.02 million shares, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) is in first place. 110.26 million BBCA shares were purchased by foreign investors, while well over 175 million were sold.

Following with net sell volumes of 58.55 million and 46.69 million were two national banks, respectively PT Bank Nasional Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Approximately 15.78 million shares were purchased by BBNI's investors overseas, while 74.30 million shares were sold. At the same time, BBRI's foreign investors sold 218.66 million shares and bought 171.96 million shares from overseas.

Following the purchase of up to 24.15 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) and the sale of up to 66.45 million shares, a net sell of 42.29 million shares was achieved.

Then, after foreigners purchased 20.94 million shares of property developer PT Sentul City Tbk (BKSL) and sold 60.75 million shares, the company's shares ended the listing with a net sell of 39.80 million shares.

On the other hand, with a net buy of 78.30 million shares, PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), an oil and gas tanker firm, topped the top buy list. BULL sold 91.38 million shares and purchased 84.61 million from foreign investors.

Following the sale of 91.38 million shares and the purchase of 130.11 million by foreigners, PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) came in second. A net buy of 38.72 million shares was also accomplished by the e-commerce issuer.

Today, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares had the greatest foreign volume. 925.11 million shares of this digital service issuer were sold, while over 953.49 million shares were bought. Additionally, a net buy of 28.37 million shares was made.

With a net buy of 14.77 million and 12.97 million shares, two state-owned businesses—the airline PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) and the mineral mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM)—then closed this list.

25.68 million ANTM shares and 27.07 million GIAA shares were purchased by foreigners. In the meantime, both issuers' overseas sales volume was over 12 million shares. (KD/ZH)
