Foreign transactions reach 5 billion, net buy 383.21 million shares

JAKARTA – On Wednesday, March 26, transactions involving foreign investors ended with a net buy on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The net foreign exchange closed as a net buy of 77.12 million shares on the previous trading day, but it increased dramatically to 383.21 million shares today.
Compared to the previous trading day (March 25), when the foreign volumes were only about 3 billion shares, the volumes today are about double. 5.64 billion shares were purchased by foreign buyers today, representing the total volume of foreign buys. Today, foreign investors made a net buy of 383.21 million shares at a sales volume (foreign sell) of 5.26 billion shares.
Today's top buy list includes shares of banking issuers in four of the five positions. The top two national banks with net buy volumes of 142.18 million BMRI and 115.07 million BBRI were PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI).
A total of 448.37 million shares were purchased by BMRI's overseas investors, while 306.19 million shares were sold. Foreign investors in BBRI, meanwhile, purchased 326.62 million shares and sold 211.55 million.
The private bank PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) saw a net buy of 90.41 million shares after foreigners sold 138.16 million of its shares and purchased 228.58 million.
PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) was the stock most actively traded by foreigners today, with a buy volume of 2.87 billion and a sale volume of 2.81 million. Yet GOTO's net buy is only about 60 million shares.
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI), another national bank, concluded this list with a net buy of around 55 million, the impact of which was the purchase of 90.79 million, and the selling of 35.82 million of its shares.
At 322.99 million shares, shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), a provider of e-commerce platforms, emerged as the stock with the biggest net sell of the day. Foreign investors in BUKA sold about 400 million shares while only purchasing 76.02 million.
Given that the net sell was just 45.73 million shares, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) trailed BUKA by a considerable margin. 56.75 million of this mineral mining issuer's shares were purchased, while 102.48 million shares were sold. Additionally, PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) recorded a foreign buying volume of 35.08 million and a foreign selling volume of 71.12 million. A net sell of about 36 million shares was also made to this real estate developer issuer.
The bottom two stocks on the top sell list were gold mining investment company PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB) with a net buy of 21.62 million and financial company PT Panin Financial Tbk (PNLF) with 17.61 million. PSAB's foreign investors sold 31.45 million shares, while PNLF's foreign investors sold around 25 million shares. (KD)
