Week's gold price hike beats BCA, BNI and BRI deposit rates

JAKARTA - The price of Antam (Aneka Tambang) gold rose 3.88% in the week to Thursday (3/4) yesterday, but corrected slightly on Friday (4/4) today.
According to the Precious Metals page, the gold price reached a record high of IDR 1,836,000 per gram. However, today the gold price weakened slightly to the level of IDR1,819,000 per gram.
With an increase of more than 3.5% in a week on Thursday, this rare metal commodity managed to beat the returns offered by other investment instruments such as deposits.
According to IDNFinancials.com data, the interest rate offered by PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) is currently only at 3.25% per year for a 1-year tenor.
Meanwhile, the highest interest rates for deposits of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) are only 3% per year, for a tenor of 3 years.
Meanwhile, the interest rate of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) is only 2.5% for a 6-month tenor.
In the past month, Antam's gold price has surged 6.44%. Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year, the price increase has reached 19.36%. (KR/LM)
