JAKARTA - PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) and its subsidiary are free from legal entanglements after the plaintiffs withdrew a civil lawsuit in the Tenggarong District Court (PN), East Kalimantan.

Jenny Quantero, Director of BYAN, stated that the Tenggarong District Court declared the civil case examination closed due to the withdrawal. "With the issuance of the court's decision, all legal issues between the plaintiffs and the company, including its subsidiary, have been resolved," she said in a disclosure on Friday (April 4).

According to her, the withdrawal of the lawsuit in the Tenggarong District Court was communicated by BYAN's legal counsel last week (March 28).

The plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit were Hamsinah, Aulia, and Napsi. Meanwhile, the defendants were Koperasi Sumber Bumi Jaya (I), BYAN (II), and its subsidiary, PT Enggang Alam Sawita (EAS) (III).

It was conveyed that the withdrawal of the civil lawsuit had no impact on the operations of the company and EAS.

Prior to this case, BYAN and EAS faced legal proceedings from several parties in East Kalimantan, which were resolved through the withdrawal of lawsuits. For instance, the withdrawal of EAS’s appeal against PT Brian Anjat Sentosa (BAS) and PT Fajar Sakti Prima (FSP) occurred last month (March 3). (LK/LM)
