BNSP to enhance manpower’s quality in ports and harbors
JAKARTA – The National Professional Certification Agency (lit. Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi/BNSP) will ensure the improvement of the quality of human resources (HR) in ports and harbors sector in Indonesia to increase competitive power.
Miftakul Azis, Vice Head of BNSP, claimed that the establishment of the Professional Certification Agency (LSP) in ports and harbors will expedite the improvement of the competency standard of human resources in the ports and harbors of Indonesia. “Manpower in the ports and harbors sector will gain competitive power,” he said during the opening of the training for ports and harbors LSP assessors in Jakarta today (9/1).
According to Azis, the competency training held by LSP matches the standard approved by many countries.
BNSP has recorded 2,060 LSPs from other sectors and has prepared 33,104 Competency-based Assessment Places (lit. Tempat Uji Kompetensi/TUK) with 17,319 schemes, 50,380 assessors, and over 2 million participants (assessee).
Ports and harbors LSP is established by Indonesia Port Business Association (lit. Asosiasi Badan Usaha Pelabuhan Indonesia/ABUPI), whose members consist of 69 companies in the maritime transport and ports sector in Indonesia. (LK/ZH)
