Bumi Serpong Damai teams up with Japanese investor for office building project in Jakarta
JAKARTA. PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk (BSDE) has collaborated with Hankyu Hanshin Properties JOIN ID-DCP LLC. to develop the Office Portfolio Partnership in the Jakarta business district.
This collaboration is carried out through the company's subsidiary, namely PT Duta Cakra Pesona (DCP). In its official statement, Hankyu Hanshin Properties JOIN ID-DCP agreed to own a 25% stake in DCP.
For the record, Hankyu Hanshin Properties JOIN ID-DCP is a joint venture founded by Hankyu Hanshin Properties (HHP) and Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN). Previously in 2016 and 2019, BSDE had collaborated with HHP and JOIN.
The long-term collaboration will begin with the development of 3 office buildings in Jakarta, namely Sinarmas MSIG Tower, Bakrie Tower and Luminary Tower. These three buildings are under the auspices of DCP.
Michael Widjaja, Deputy President Director of BSDE, said that this collaboration is expected to provide added value to the performance of the office space rental business in the Jakarta business area.
"HHP's expertise in managing office buildings is expected to help introduce new tenants from Japanese companies, increase the efficiency of building energy use, improve operational team performance, transfer technology and knowledge," said Widjaja. (KR/LM)
