JAKARTA – Who holds all the money in the media and entertainment industry today? Forbes list three renowned tycoons in said industry out of the Top 50 Billionaires.

Based on the data curated by IDNFinancials Thursday (9/2), Eddy Kusnadi Sariaatmadja and his family sat at the highest position in the list, boasting total assets of USD 2.4 billion.

The founder of Emtek Group kicked off its business in 1983 as the primary distributor of Compaq electronic gadget. Now, Emtek has grown into the owner of SCTV, Indosiar, and MOJI.

The runner-up is Hary Tanoesoedibjo with total assets of USD 1.09 billion. He is a renowned investor, who also found Perindo Party. Through his Media Nusantara Citra (MNC) Group, he controls top domestic television channels, including iNewsTV, GTV, and RCTI.

Manoj Punjabi arrives at the third position, recording total assets of USD 1.05 billion. As the owner of MD Pictures, he is titled the King of Television Series in Indonesia. MD Pictures’ production fills nearly every prime time television slot in various channels. (LK/ZH)
