JAKARTA - PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), the parent company of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I, will officially take over the operation of Kediri Airport in East Java. The airport, built through a public-private partnership scheme, utilises private fund source.

Rahadian D. Yogisworo, Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura I, confirmed that the company has been assigned by PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) as the partner in the joint operation of Kediri Airport. “The company has officially become the operator of the airport, while PT Surya Dhoho Investama (SDHI) will remain as the asset owner that plays a role in managing the airport,” he added in the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (12/4).

The Kediri Airport project is built on investment worth IDR 10.8 trillion put in by GGRM through its subsidiary, SDHI. The runway spans 3,300 metre in length and 45 metre in width. The total area of this airport is 371 hectares with a terminal area of 18,000 m2, which is projected to be able to shelter 1.5 million flight users each year. (LK/ZH)
